Joint Secretary

Mir Afzal Khan, Joint Secretary, an officer of Secretariat Group, is posted in the National Security Division since August 2021. Has hails from Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ha has done his Masters’ Degree in Economics from the University of Peshawar, Peshawar. Later he was awarded a Bachler of Education (B.Ed.), degree by Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. He started his professional career at the Federal Bureau of Statistics (now Pakistan Bureau of Statistics) in February 1988. Since then he served the Federal Government in different capacities. He remained posted in the Ministry of Planning, Development & Reforms, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of National Food Security & Research, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and lastly in Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Islamabad before he joined the National Security Division. On his promotion as Joint Secretary in April 2021, he was posted to the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Islamabad. Soon after, he was attached with the National Security Division in May 2021 while posting him on the strength of the Establishment Division. In August 2021 he was formally posted as Joint Secretary in the National Security Division. Since then he has been working with the National Security Adviser as part of his team.
